Making the right choice in Final Fantasy 7 Remake can improve a hidden happiness meter that Cloud’s supporting party members have. This happiness meter comes into play later on in the game. Here’s a breakdown of each choice and how it impacts the game.

Where’s Tifa?

Just before returning to Sector 7 himself, Cloud will notice a carriage exiting Sector 7 carrying Tifa, who’s all fancied up in an dress Cloud chooses earlier in the game. After a quick argument over what to do, Cloud will chase after her and will arrive just outside Wall Market. There, they’ll meet a man named Chocobo Sam who was driving the carriage Tifa was in. Cloud and Aerith will question the man about Tifa’s whereabouts.

Making a Decision

When Chocobo Sam asks who Cloud and Aerith are talking about, the game will state ‘The Girl We’re Looking For…’ and will offer up three potential ways to describe Tifa. The choice made can potentially improve Tifa’s relationship with Cloud (even though she’s not around to hear it). Here’s a breakdown of the three choices:

She’s in Great Shape: Tifa’s happiness increases. She’s a Great Fighter: Tifa’s happiness likely increases. She’s Great at Handling the Books: Neutral response, Tifa’s happiness doesn’t improve or decrease.

If players aren’t interested in improving their relationship with Tifa, the answer doesn’t really matter. Chocobo Sam will understand who Cloud is talking about regardless of the answer he picks.

When It Comes Into Play

Much later on, in Chapter 14, Cloud will visit Aerith’s garden in the evening. This will trigger Final Fantasy 7’s resolution event, and one of Cloud’s party members will join him there based on how he’s treated them during the game. The person who arrives could be Tifa, Aerith, or Barret, so players should be mindful of their choices throughout the game to ensure that they get the cutscene they want.
