Lopez, a former WBA, (Super), IBF, WBO, and The Ring lightweight champion, is competing for the first time since November 2021. He beat the mighty Vasiliy Lomachenko to win the titles. After losing the belts against George Kambosos Jr., Lopez took a step back to regroup. Now, he will be competing in the 140-pound division. It is an opportunity for the 25-year-old to shine in a new domain.

He has big plans for that division.

“I bring the excitement for the 140 division. Who else is? Whether [Ryan] Garcia or anybody else that comes up they have to come see me at 140,” Lopez stated on The Good Fight with Kate Abdo, via Boxing Scene. “That’s me taking over that division.

“None of those guys at 140 have yet to accomplish that goal, yet alone getting three belts or four. I got five (WBA, WBO, WBC Franchise, IBF, and Ring Magazine) at that time. There are levels and there’s things to it. I’m still the man.”

A rebound win will be the start of a new era for Lopez. He is also looking to compete for more gold. Lopez’s first test at 140 pounds is Campa, who has won four in a row. With 23 wins via knockout, Campa will look to stop Lopez right in his tracks.
