The Rams haven’t exactly played like defending champions, however. It has been a trying season for LA; it sits at 3-9 and dead last in the NFC West ahead of Week 14. To make matters worse, quarterback Matthew Stafford is likely out for the year after being placed on injured reserve with a spinal contusion, leaving it to John Wolford or Bryce Perkins to try to pick up the slack.
The Raiders are coming off a win over the Chargers that, if nothing else, has them in the playoff conversation. They’re two games back of the Jets for the No. 7 spot in the AFC, and with New York’s quarterback situation reaching crisis levels, the seventh seed is looking attainable.
LA long ago traded its 2023 first-round pick in the deal to get Stafford, so it’s looking to win as many games as possible down the stretch. It can try to play spoiler to Las Vegas this week.
