MORE: Cowboys vs. Buccaneers live score, updates, highlights

In the four vs. five matchup in the NFC, the Buccaneers will host the Cowboys, as the Bucs look to find some consistency in their play this season.

The Cowboys, meanwhile, had their Week 18 game rendered irrelevant by the Eagles beating the Giants, but all the same suffered a decisive loss to the Commanders that has raised questions among NFL fans around the veracity of their 12-5 record. After all, they were a game away from winning the NFC East. Is it a concern they didn’t put their best foot forward?

The Buccaneers, meanwhile, finished the year 8-9 with some relatively low peaks and relatively deep valleys. In the NFC South that was enough to win, but the Buccaneers will have to be better to win the postseason.

Here’s how to watch, as two of the NFC’s most prominent teams face off Monday night.

What time is the NFL playoff game today?

Dallas Cowboys (5) vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4)

Date: Monday, Jan. 16 Location: Raymond James Stadium – Tampa, Fla.   Start time: 8:15 p. m. ET

The Cowboys and Buccaneers both finished this season with a whimper, losing to the last-place teams in their respective divisions in the Commanders and Falcons.

With that being said, Tom Brady is always a threat in the playoffs, and he has a home game to boot. As the No. 4 seed, the path through the NFC is treacherous, but what’s been a disappointing season to date could be erased with a strong playoff run.

For the Cowboys, it will fall on Dak Prescott to avoid the mistake-prone football that raised questions late in the regular season. Despite extremely impressive counting stats, Prescott threw an interception in seven straight games to end the season, including four multi-pick games. The Cowboys have largely been able to overcome those mistakes, but in the postseason they’ll accumulate quickly.
